Project Groundswell invites photographers and lens-based artists to submit projects on climate action, aiming to deepen understanding, amplify hope, and inspire further action by showcasing efforts to combat climate change.
Theme
Submissions should engage with global climate actions, such as reducing carbon emissions, promoting biodiversity, or enabling climate justice. Approaches can range from documentary to conceptual, as long as they relate to climate action.
Note: This call focuses on projects that highlight active solutions to climate change, not just raising awareness.

Prizes
Four Overall Winners receive:
€5,000 fee
Museum-quality exhibition and photobook publication
Exhibition in Fotohof, Photo Museum Ireland, Cortona On The Move, and Imago Lisboa in 2026
€800 travel support
Exhibition prints for artists and Fotohof Archive
Twelve Finalists receive:
€1,000 fee
Mentoring for audio-visual piece development
Inclusion in premiere projection events and promotion
Chance to become an Overall Winner
Submissions
8-15 images from lens-based projects, including photography and video
Projects can be completed or in-progress
Restrictions apply to previously exhibited or awarded works
AI-generated images are not accepted unless the focus of investigation
Eligibility
Artists of any nationality based in Europe, including EU countries and select others
Open to artists 18+ of all backgrounds and experience levels
Individual and collective submissions welcome
