Kranj Foto Fest Open Call for Exhibitions 2025

Kranj Foto Fest in Slovenia invites submissions for its 2025 festival. The winner will receive a solo exhibition, a €1,000 prize, travel expenses up to €400, and three nights' accommodation during the festival's opening week.

Up to 12 projects will be selected for group exhibitions at Kranj Foto Fest 2025, with some potentially upgraded to solo exhibitions in special locations around Kranj. Exhibitions may occur at historic landmarks, art centers, and other unique sites. Selected artists will receive three nights' accommodation during the festival's opening week. Production costs are covered by the festival. The Open Call is open to photographers of all backgrounds, with no thematic, age, or regional restrictions. For a month, Kranj transforms into a photography hub, inviting emerging and established photographers worldwide. Submissions will be reviewed by a jury, and selected artists will collaborate with the curatorial team to showcase their work to an audience of curators, photo editors, gallery owners, and publishers from Slovenia and abroad.

Who can submit?

Photographers, visual artists, and visual storytellers older than 18 years old (individuals, duets or collectives) from all over the world, can apply to this open call. We welcome submissions from photographers of all levels and backgrounds.

What's the theme?

There is no theme or technique limitation, but the photos should be part of a story, series or project.

What can be submitted?

Each participant may submit up to two photo stories, series, or projects, with each project consisting of 10 to 20 images.

What can you win?

One winner will get a solo exhibition at Kranj Foto Fest 2025, production costs covered, €1,000 cash prize, travel expenses up to €400, and 3 nights of accommodation. Up to 12 additional projects will be selected for group exhibitions at the festival 2025

What does it cost?

The application fee is €12 for one project. If submitting two projects, the total fee is €16, with an additional €4 for the second project.
