Heritage Lens Open Call 2025

Cobertura Photo (Spain), ISSP (Latvia), Officine Fotografiche Roma (Italy), and Fotofestiwal (Poland) invite Europe-based photographers/visual artists to apply to take part in the HERITAGE LENS project in 2025 - 2026.

The project will facilitate the transnational creation and circulation of artistic works through a collaborative photographic exploration by 12 emerging European photographers from diverse regions.

Through a collaborative process, Heritage Lens aims to weave together individual visual narratives into a cohesive portrayal of the diverse impacts of climate change on European cultural heritage, inspiring a sense of responsibility towards climate action and preservation. The project is coordinated by leading photography centers from Spain, Italy, Latvia, and Poland and is funded by the EU Creative Europe Culture programme.

Europe-based emerging photographers (2-8 years of practice) are invited to apply for the Heritage Lens project, focusing on cultural heritage resilience against climate change. Applicants must be residents of EU or Creative Europe eligible countries, eager to develop a personal project, participate in a collaborative process, and benefit from networking, mentoring, and exposure opportunities. Commitment to 3 workshops in Spain, Latvia, and Poland is required. Submit a well-developed project idea on cultural heritage and climate change, to be completed by March 2026. Local photographers from affected areas are encouraged to apply.

Applications must include a bio, portfolio, and project proposal with visuals via the online form.

Selected photographers will make interdisciplinary connections, gain knowledge on climate impact, and receive mentoring. A €1,000 participation grant, travel and accommodation for workshops, and exhibition opportunities at Fotofestiwal 2026 in Lodz and other partner countries are provided.
