About Gibellina Photoroad
Gibellina Photoroad is Italy's first open-air, site-specific festival, featuring large-format prints, outdoor exhibitions, and installations in Gibellina, a town free from visual and light pollution.
Overview
Gibellina Photoroad / Open Air & Site-specific Festival invites photographers, artists, and curators to apply for an open-air installation. A project will be selected for exhibition at the festival's fifth edition (20 June - 20 August 2025), inclusion in the Permanent Collection of Fondazione Orestiadi, and publication in the festival catalog.
Projects must align with the 2025 theme, Timeless, exploring different concepts of time, as described by philosophers like Henri Bergson. The contemporary image challenges traditional representations of reality, offering new meanings.

Practical Info
Applicants must submit a PDF with a project abstract, 22 images, a biography, CV, and payment receipt. Projects should include images for vertical printing on adhesive vinyl/pvc. Individuals or groups (no age limit) can apply. The selected project will be displayed under the Unfinished Theatre by Pietro Consagra in Gibellina, Sicily, until June 2026. All production, installation, and communication costs are covered. The winner receives up to €300 for travel expenses, accommodation, and participation in guided tours/talks during the festival's opening. The work will be chosen by a jury of notable curators.
