The “Acasă la Hundorf/ At Home in Hundorf” Association hosts the annual artist residency program Școala de-Acasă / ȘAH for emerging artists across various media, offering time and space to develop artistic projects in a welcoming rural community.
ȘAH focuses on process, introspection, and creative freedom in a tranquil environment, emphasizing the concept of Home for reflection and inspiration. It fosters creativity and collaboration among residents, offering a retreat to rejuvenate imagination. In 2025, for its 9th edition, the residency introduces a thematic focus and extends its duration from 2 to 4 weeks.

Why a Thematic Approach?
Over 100 artists have participated in the ȘAH residencies, exploring various themes like migration, education, environment, and cultural identity. To enhance collaboration and dialogue, each edition will now focus on a specific theme, fostering stronger community connections.
Why a Longer Residency?
Extending the residency by two weeks allows for deeper research, reflection, and community engagement. This additional time helps artists acclimate, develop relationships, and refine their work, aligning with the local rhythm of Hundorf.
ȘAH 2025 Residency Theme: WORK
Following last year's focus on rest, this year explores "work" in its many forms and its impact on identity and society. As work evolves due to AI, economic shifts, and changing domestic roles, artists are invited to reflect on these transformations. Projects can explore rural and global perspectives, offering fresh insights into the nature of work. We encourage both local and unconventional approaches to this theme.
We are launching the national and international call for the 9th Edition of the ȘAH artist residency in Hundorf!
